In the course of the meeting that
was held on the request of the Polish Party Oleh Bilorus highly evaluated the
relations between Poland and
Ukraine
and expressed hope that in future it would facilitate the development of the
bilateral cooperation. "There are no issues that can worsen our
dialogue", the Chairman of the Committee emphasised.
The Parties pointed out the attention to the further development of the bilateral a multilateral cooperation of Ukrainian and Polish parliamentarians. In particular, the discussed the work in the framework of the Interparliamentary Assembly of Ukraine and the Republic of Poland and Ukrainian-Polish, Lithuanian Interparliamentary Assembly as well as the initiative of Polish parliamentarians regarding the direct connections between the Committee and Commission.
Taras Chornovil, the First
Deputy Chairman of the Committee on Foreign Affairs highly evaluated the cooperation
between Ukraine and the Republic of Poland on the governmental level, though,
according to him, it is necessary to activate the interparliamentary dialogue
between two states in the level of the Parliaments.
Oksana Bilozir, the Chairperson of the Committee on Foreign Ukrainians and Co-chairperson of the Group on Interparliamentary Connections with the Republic of Poland in the course of the meeting stated that the bilateral Polish Ukrainian-Relations are characterized by the great potential and perspectives of the further development. "The European integration process is of prior importance for Ukraine", the People´s Deputy emphasised. O. Bilozir also pointed the attention of the participants on the issue of labour migration.
Andrzej Halicki, Chairman of the Committee on Foreign Affairs of Sejm of the Republic of Poland emphasised the development of strong connections between our states and national that remain an essential sphere of interest of the Polish foreign policy. He declared that the Polish Party expects the development and adoption of the Program on Cooperation between the Committee and Commission for the medium-termed period.
